Recordings of ABC broadcasts by Anglo-American anthropologist and folklorist John Greenway, on "American Negro Folksongs," "Folksongs of Protest," "Folksongs from Australia and America," and "What Is a Folksong"; Anglo-American collectors Ed Romaniuk and his wife Elsie, performing hobo songs, country standards, and ballads; Anglo-American John Edwards (1932- 1960), of Australia, who until his death was the world's foremost hillbilly record collector, playing the guitar and singing. The tape also includes several dubs of commercial recordings of old-time and western songs by various artists.

John Edwards (1932-1960) of Sydney, Australia, was one of the first collectors of early American country music and a pioneering discographer of this music.
